Downs has some standouts

Devante Downs continues to pick up major offers and he said all schools are equal at this point but the Lynnwood (Wash.) Mountlake Terrace athlete does have a few programs that pique his interest just a little more.
"I like them all equally but a couple standing out would be Stanford, Washington, Oregon State and Vanderbilt," Downs said.

Stanford is the latest offer for the 6-foot-2, 230-pound four-star prospect who could play running back or linebacker at the next level.
Most programs are recruiting him for running back but Downs' offers are varied and all teams remain in play as things continue to heat up.
"Most are saying running back and then if I want to play defense I could, too," Downs said. "It's really exciting. Seven of my offers are running back, two are linebacker and then one or two is athlete."
So far, Downs has picked up offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Cal, Colorado State, Oregon State, Stanford, Utah, Vanderbilt, Washington and Washington State.
He said visiting Stanford and heading to Cal are important in the coming months.
"(Stanford) is a great school all-around with football and academics and they won the Pac-12 last year so that's pretty cool and it's a great offer to have," Downs said.
"I'm going to take visits in the summer. I definitely want to see Stanford and I'd like to see Cal too when I'm up there visiting Stanford."
Some major programs are also showing interest. Downs, rated No. 186 in the 2014 class by Rivals.com, said USC, UCLA and Oregon have gotten involved recently.
"I think those three are the closest and have the most interest in me," Downs said.
