Four-star 2015 running back Andrew Dowell of Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward holds five early offers, and has started hearing from new schools since his junior season ended.
"We had a lot of coaches stopping by," Dowell said. "Indiana stopped by, Michigan State stopped by a couple times, Penn State did before the coaching change and West Virginia, which has already offered me."
Indiana has not yet offered the 6-foot, 200-pound Dowell, but their interest in the four-star back has picked up in the last couple months.
"I am liking what Indiana is saying a lot," Dowell said. "I have been talking to Coach (Deland) McCullough, the running backs coach, for a little while now. We are building a pretty good relationship. Things are looking strong for an offer, but I don't know what their process is."
Dowell and his brother, athlete David Dowell, are both rated four-stars and take all of their recruiting trips together.
"We're getting all of the junior day stuff together right now," Dowell said. "We are starting to figure out all those dates and plan out all the schools. We haven't confirmed, but I'm pretty sure we are going to go up to Indiana."
The five schools that have offered Dowell are Illinois, West Virginia, Kent State, Ohio and Toledo. He maintains good contact with each of those schools.
"Anybody that has offered me, I try to show as much interest back in them as I can," he said. "We're liking West Virginia. I like Illinois too."
