Douglas is on the rise

McKinney (Texas) North receiver David Douglas is watching his stock rise.
Douglas, a 6-foot-1, 181-pound receiver, has been doing several events in track during the football off-season. He's also getting plenty of mail and text messages from several schools. Some of those school that are showing early interest include Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU, Iowa State, Louisville, and others.

"It's starting to pick up," Douglas said about his college interest. "I'm getting more and more text messages and a lot of mail."
TCU and Oklahoma State are two schools that Douglas is very interested in. Having last year's prospect Jeff Olson sign with TCU has elevated the program in the eyes of Douglas.
"I like both of those schools a lot," Douglas said. "I knew a couple of people that went there from last year. I've been getting stuff from both schools and I went to Oklahoma State for a visit last year for a game."
The only junior day Douglas has been able to attend was one at SMU. He was planning to also attend one at LSU, but had a conflict with a basketball game.
"Louisville invited me and Iowa State too," Douglas said. "Most of them are real far away and I've had stuff going on."
When asked to describe his abilities, Douglas says that he takes route running skills very seriously.
"The strongest part of my game is my route running," he said. "I'm not super fast, but I'm not slow either. I can catch the ball and go. The best I could say though is that I run good routes. I work real hard on that."
Douglas was a first-team all-district and first-team all-region selection as a junior.
