Dorton ready to decide

Malik Dorton is ready to make his college decision.
The four-star defensive end from Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco is expected to make his commitment during a press conference at his school on Friday afternoon.

USC is considered the favorite but Dorton is keeping quiet about which program he's going to choose.
Arizona State, Boise State, Colorado, Fresno State, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon State, San Diego State, Texas Tech, UCLA, Utah, Utah State, Vanderbilt and Washington State have also offered.
"I know which school I'm going to commit to already," Dorton said. "I'm pretty happy. It's a big stress reliever. I can settle down and really focus.
"It's a good thing to me that I'm getting it done early. Everybody around campus and all the players ask me when I'm going to make a decision so this will settle it down and I could really focus on my senior season."
Getting the decision out of the way is important to Dorton since St. John Bosco is one of the top teams nationally, loaded with Division I prospects, so he wants to get recruiting pretty much out of the way.
Still, the four-star defensive end said even after he commits he still plans to stay in contact with some schools to keep the recruiting process going through his senior year.
In case something happens, Dorton might want to keep tabs on the schools he's interested in so his options are still available.
"The schools that I'm really interested in, I'm still going to go forward with those schools even though I'm committed," Dorton said. "The schools I'm not interested in I'm just going to tell them instead of making it a public thing."
