Dont overlook Kempsvilles Hughes

It's easy to get overlooked in the 2007 class with star prospects like Kevin Simmons and Jay Smith at your school, but Trenton Hughes out of Virginia Beach (Va.) Kempsville is getting looks of his own. The 5-foot-11, 173-pounder even has gotten his first scholarship offer.
"He received an offer from Akron already," Kempsville head coach Jeff McGowan said. "He is getting a good amount of interest from other schools like North Carolina State, Maryland, Virginia and Virginia Tech."

Does Hughes have any early favorites?
"I know he likes North Carolina State and Maryland a lot, but don't count out the in-state schools either."
Last season the safety prospect recorded seven sacks and eight pass breakups.
"Trenton is a big-time track guy that moved over to football," he said. "This kid can fly and his ability to cover sideline to sideline is great. In our scheme, we blitz 90% of the time and he showed the ability to go in on the blitz and get to the quarterback or stay with a running back and cover. I am also comfortable sending him out at cornerback too."
Hughes plans to attend the Adidas Combine and either the Nike Camp at Penn State or Clemson this spring. The safety prospect is looking to head to a team camp at North Carolina State this summer.
