Dont forget about Porch

With so many talented prospects in the Peach State this year, there is a possibility that one or two of them may be overlooked until late January. One prospect that will not be overlooked is Calhoun (Ga.) Gordon Central athlete Dorian Porch.
“I went to Georgia Tech’s junior day last weekend,” Porch said.

“The visit went real well. I was pretty impressed by Georgia Tech, a lot more than I thought I would be. Even though it is in downtown Atlanta, it is a good school and campus. I got to meet some of the coaches while I was there.”
The 5-foot-11, 170 pound Porch, who runs the 40 yard dash in 4.49 seconds, is receiving mail from just about everyone in the South, while Virginia Tech and Colorado are also sending heavy mail to his home.
“Right now my top four schools are Georgia, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech and Tennessee. There are some other schools that I like, but those are the ones that I’m thinking the most about right now.”
Porch boasts a 435 pound squat, a 245 pound bench press and a 31 inch vertical jump. He is also an impressive academic student that holds a 3.2 GPA.
In high school Porch is a quarterback and safety for his high school team, but with the talent he possesses he could project at several positions on the college level.
“Georgia Tech told me that they would look at me at wide receiver and safety. They said that they wanted to evaluate me a little more and stuff like that to see where they thought I would fit into their system best.”
Porch plans to attend spring games at Tennessee and Georgia over the next couple of weekends. He is also slated to attend the Nike camp at Georgia Tech on May 8th.
As a junior Porch was elected to the first team all-area defense by the Chattanooga Free Press. He was also named first team defense all-area and second team offense all-area by the Rome Times Tribune.
