Dominguez DE lives up to rep

Three-star defensive end Michael Shelton (6-3, 211, 4.78) from Compton (Calif.) Dominguez is another player who is living up his expectations in 2004.
Shelton has racked up 65 tackles, eight sacks and two forced fumbles. Even he gets a lot of attention from blockers Shelton puts the heat on a quarterback.

“I don’t know how many quarterback hurries I have,” Shelton said. “But it is a bunch.”
Shelton has received an abundance of phone calls since September 1st. The schools that are calling him most consistently are Colorado, Arizona, Oregon, Oregon State, Cal, USC, Washington and Washington State.
Shelton has offers from Arizona, Washington, Oregon, Oregon State and San Diego State.
“I will be setting my visits after December 4th,” Shelton said. “After I take my SAT.”
Shelton had a great summer improving his stock while camping at USC and San Diego State. Some claimed Shelton was the most impressive defensive lineman at the USC camp. He was named co-defensive line MVP at USC and was the defensive line MVP at San Diego State.
As a junior, Shelton was selected all-league and all-area after accounting for 75 tackles, 13 sacks, 10 tackles for loss and three fumbles caused.
Shelton is a member of the Rivals.com Preseason California Top 100 team for the class 2005 landing as the Golden State’s number 46 rated prospect. Rivals.com also rates Shelton as the nation’s number 13 weakside defensive end for 2005.
