Does change at AM mean change for DE

Earlier today, Humble, Texas, defensive end and Rivals100 selection Jason Jack was preparing to have Aggie coach R.C. Slocum in his house for an in-home visit. But obviously things have changed now.

That's because Slocum has been let go as the Aggies' coach and it was a surprise to Jack, despite all of the rumors and talk the past few months.
“Oh man,” Jack said. “I really don’t know what to say. I was a little surprised. No I’m shocked about the whole thing. I’ve never listened to the rumors and all the talk. I don’t know what to really think.”
Especially since Jack, who has been committed to the Aggies since earlier this summer, was going to have Aggie coaches in his home tonight.
“I guess they’re not coming, huh,” he asked.
But either way, it doesn’t look like Jack is going to be in a rush to jump off the Aggie pledge list.
“You know what, A&M is still a pretty good school,” Jack said. “I'm just going to see who the new head coach is and see how that works out. I want to see what the new plan is. I’m still pretty sure that I want to go to A&M.
“I guess I want to see how things work out.”
Jack said he has not heard from other schools in quite some time, but he knows that is likely to change now.
“I guess I’ll listen to them,” he said. “But before I really do that I need to talk to my mom about it. I made a commitment to A&M, not just the coaches.”
