Dodge City OL commits

Dodge City (Kan.) Dodge City C.C. three-star offensive guard Sylvester Hatten started his college career at Alabama State, but transferred to Dodge City C.C. with hopes of playing Division I football. His dreams have come true.
"Sylvester has committed to New Mexico," Dodge City assistant and recruiting coordinator Jared Powers said. "He's set to sign with them on Wednesday. He's really excited about his decision. He had a lot of good schools to pick from, but he just liked his chances there."

New Mexico is getting a good player.
"He's phenomenal, and it's a real blessing to get him here," Powers said. "We had a guy by the named Mickey Baker that's now at Akron, and Sylvester played high school football with him. And we have a quarterback that Rivals ranked pretty highly last year that's here, his name is Harry Betsy, and he's also from the same school. So we worked that angle to get him out here.
"He is by far one of the best I've been around. He's the real deal."
And he'll be a good one at New Mexico.
"They told me they have him already penciled in at their left guard spot," Powers said. "I really think he can go out there and get a shot at starting right from the start. He'll work hard and get it done."
