Do Butts or McCain have leaders

Norfolk (Va.) Maury's two star wide receiver prospects James Butts and Dyrii McCain continue to get heavy interest from schools across the country. Rivals caught up with their head coach Delton Cotton to see if either of the prospects have any favorites.
"Both of them are talking a lot about Virginia, Virginia Tech, Boston College, Clemson, Maryland and Auburn," he said. "James currently still holds one offer from Boston College, while Dyrii doesn't have any yet."

What makes each of them stand out?
"McCain is an exceptional athlete that ran the 23rd fastest 40 time out of 500 kids at the Army All-American Combine in San Antonio," he said. "He is a legitimate Division I kid with some of the best hands around. Academically he is doing really well and will be a qualifier no doubt. He also is an impressive track athlete and is a big playmaker. He is strong and shifty too.
"Butts is another phenomenal athlete and he's getting looked at on both sides of the ball, but I'd say he's a better defensive back. He's very technical and has great hips. He also can return punts and kickoffs and ran a very impressive shuttle at the Army All-American Combine as he was the third fastest of all the players."
Last season Butts hauled in six interceptions. He went on to be named honorable mention all-district receiver, all-district defensive back and kick returner. McCain posted 31 receptions for 1,074 yards, 12 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He earned all-district and second team all-region honors as a junior.
McCain and Butts are pretty close friends. Is there a chance the two will be a package deal?
"They are very close and I could definitely see them wanting to play with each other in college," he said. "They are competitive with each other especially since they play the same position and against each other."
Both players plan to attend the Elite College Combine in New Jersey, the Clemson Nike Camp and the Adidas Camp at North Carolina State.
