DL Pulu talks to Mountain West

Josh Pulu has emerged as a force on the defensive line, recording as many as eight tackles, three forced fumbles and a sack in a single game. He’s led his Cabot (Calif.) College team to a 5-2 record, and now he’s getting interest from some Mountain West schools as a result.
“I’ve been talking a lot to Utah, Colorado State, UTEP [Texas El-Paso] and New Mexico State lately,” Pulu said. “I really like Coach Hevesy [offensive line coach John] and everything about Utah. I like it best because I’ve been there before. Colorado State is trying to send me out there sometime in January, so that could make things change some.”

While Pulu may have Utah as an early favorite, he still has to wait on scholarship offers before he can make any decisions. Visits to campuses could pave the road to those offers, and he has yet to decide to where and when he will make those visits.
“I’m going to take that official to Colorado State in January, and we’ll see, maybe I’ll take more visits later,” he said. “There’s just no time to call coaches and stuff right now.”
The self-proclaimed Reggie White fan claims that his strength is his hard-nosed play, which he said is akin to White’s combination of speed and strength.
The 6-foot-2, 275 pound Pulu has recorded a 5.35-second 40-yard dash and was an All-NorCal Conference player as a freshman at Cabot.
