Quincy Notre Dame two star ranked defensive line prospect Trevor Frericks (6-foot-1, 251 pounds) has just completed a whirlwind, last minute recruiting blitz from Bowling Green State University. Frericks ended his recruiting process on Sunday, giving the Falcons his verbal commitment after making an official visit this past weekend.
"I wasn't even considering Bowling Green until about three weeks ago," Frericks said. "They really started to get serious in recruiting me over the last few weeks. They offered me an official visit, and then they offered me a scholarship this weekend. I gave them my verbal commitment on Sunday"
Frericks tells us why he decided to verbal to the Falcons.
"I just had a great visit this past weekend at Bowling Green. They have everything that you'd want in a school and a football program. They have had a lot of success on the field and they are a traditional winning program in the MAC. I really got along great with the coaches and the players on my visit, they are all just great guys. The facilities are good and Bowling Green is in the middle of doing several upgrades to the facilities. Academically, Bowling Green is strong and it's just a great mix of academics and athletics that I couldn't pass up."
"It feels great to be heading to Bowling Green. My parents also made the official visit with me and they also came away very impressed with Bowling Green. I'm also happy to have my recruiting over with, because it can definitely be a stressful time."
Frericks drew recruiting interest and offers from Southern Illinois University, Indiana State, Southwest Missouri State. Frericks also was offered a preferred walk on at Iowa before deciding on Bowling Green.
