Dixson has new leader

The scholarship offers continue to pour in for Garland, Texas defensive tackle Dale Dixson.
With so many offers already in hand, Dixson is now in the process of sifting through his choices and trying to narrow down his list of possible college destinations.

“Right now, I’m just getting all my visits lined up,” Dixson explained. “I’ve set two of them up, and after this week, I should probably have all of them set.”
The two visits that Dixson has set are treks to LSU on Nov. 30 and to Texas A&M for either Nov. 23 or Dec. 7. The A&M visit is up in the air somewhat.
“I’m supposed to talk to the coaches and see if they want me to come in this weekend for the Texas game or on December 7. I’ll do whatever they want me too now that our season is over.”
Several other schools also remain in the hunt.
“I’m probably also going to visit Notre Dame, USC and Georgia. I don’t think I’ll visit Oklahoma now. They have a lot of depth on their defensive line. They’re real young up there.”
All of the schools involved have offered Dixson a scholarship. But one school currently is occupying the pole position.
“I would say that I like A&M the most. There are a lot of reasons, but I just think they’re the team that’s leading going into the official visits,” he said.
Dixson is 6-foot-3, 265 pounds and projects as a defensive tackle or nose guard on the college level. He’s also in step to be a full academic qualifier, with a passing score on the SAT and a GPA that is hovering around the 3.0 mark.
