Dixon lining up official visits

Lufkin, Texas defensive end McKinner Dixon has lined up his first two official visits.
“I have scheduled a trip to Kansas State for the weekend of Dec. 10,” the 6-foot-3, 240-pound Dixon said. “I am also going to Nebraska just after that on Dec. 14. Those are the only two I have set up right now.”

The No. 2 rated defensive end is also considering Miami, Florida State, Washington and Texas Tech for his remaining official visits.
“I will find three out of those four schools to go to,” he said. “I’m also looking at LSU and Texas quite a bit. But, there is no real point in taking official visits there. Those aren’t too far from here, so I can drive there on my own if I need to check anything else out there.”
At this point in the process, the four-star rated Dixon has not decided on a favorite school.
“I don’t really have a favorite school,” he said. “They are all good places. Right now, I’m not worried about the schools. I am worried about winning football games. After I take those visits, I’ll get a better idea of which places are better places for me and which ones are not.”
Lufkin remains unbeaten through three games.
“We are 3-0,” he said. “We just need to keep it up and not lose our focus.”
On the season so far,” Dixon has recorded 21 tackles and three quarterback sacks.
