The four-star split end decided to put recruiting to the side to focus on his team's playoff run. Originally he had a November 30 date set to announce between his final five of Alabama, Arkansas, Miami, N.C. State, and Ohio State. Then it was a December 8 decision at a local West Palm Beach restaurant.
However, he scheduled an official visit to UM on December 7 and after returning home he felt he needed more time. His team continued to win making it to Citrus Bowl in Orlando, home to the state championships.
Now the playoffs are over and Dixon has made up his mind. It's been an interesting ride for Dixon. During the summer he named the hometown Hurricanes his leader. Over the season he didn't visit Miami electing to take official visits out of state. Ohio State made a good impression as did Alabama. Dixon's mom accompanied him to Tuscaloosa and she has been a part of his recruitment.
Last week the Tide and Buckeyes had in-home visits with Dixon to make their final closing arguments to get home to leave the Sunshine State.
When asked if he will have hats on a table?
"No. I have one hat in a bag," stated Dixon via text message. "I'm announcing at my school at 3 PM. It's been crazy."
Dixon has always held things close to the vest in regards to his recruitment. The school that lands him is getting a tremendous vertical threat out wide. He has excellent linear speed and he puts pressure on defenses with his home run ability.
He finished the regular season with 37 receptions for 758 yards and ten touchdowns. During the playoffs, Dixon scored six touchdowns to help lead Dwyer to their first state crown since 2009.
Dixon's coach Jack Daniels told BuckeyeGrove.com that he will decide between Alabama, Miami, and Ohio State.
