Dixon in no hurry

Dallas (Texas) Skyline safety Derrick Dixon may not be too worried about the recruiting process right now as he and his teammates prepare for a state title run, but college coaches are in hot pursuit.
Offers have been placed on the table by TCU, Texas Tech, West Virginia, Washington State, and most recently Rice, and while recruiting may be taking a backseat at the moment he does have a few summer plans.

"I think I'm going to take some visits but I don't know," Dixon said. "Probably the only camp I'll go to will be Baylor."
The Bears have yet to offer but he does have ties to the program with cousins Antwan Goodley and Ahmad Dixon both playing at Baylor now. His two cousins have been in touch and both gave him similar advice when it comes to the recruiting process.
"Just relax and wait and give it time and it'll all come to you," Dixon said.
Dixon plans to do just that, but he does have a program that has caught his attention.
"Texas Tech of course," he said. "They're just communicating with me more."
The standout safety also likes what he is hearing from California.
At this point and time he is clear about taking his time, but he does have an idea about when he would like to make a decision.
"At the end of my senior year," Dixon said.
