Dillard getting his name out

During his junior season at Arlington (Texas) High School, running back C.J. Dillard got a first hand glimpse at what life would be like playing with the big boys. The 5-foot-9, 181-pound speedster though shined as he had in years past and took his sophomore year as preparation time while he switched schools.
Dillard, who is receiving mail from several programs so far in the recruiting process, says that he's taking things slow just as he does on the field to make the best decision.

"I had the opportunity to start as a sophomore," Dillard said. "But, I transferred schools because my parents moved. I was over at Mansfield (Texas) Summit. My family had to change, so we had to make the switch."
"I had to sit out and do my time."
Dillard says it wasn't easy to watch all of the other varsity players making a statement.
"It's tough not being out there," Dillard said. "It's especially tough when you know you can compete on that level. You have to do what you have to do though."
The junior season was definitely a strong case for Dillard's upcoming recruitment to be at a high level. He made second-team all-district and the third most receiving yards in the district, according to Dillard.
"I think I did pretty well," he said. "I'm always looking to get better and I'm going to step up to play even harder as a senior."
Mail has been coming in high volume. SMU, Missouri, and TCU have been sending the most so far. Dillard does have an out-of-state leader though.
"My dream school is Tennessee," he said. "At the same time, I'll look at all of the Division I opportunities out there depending on who I get a scholarship from."
This summer, Dillard wants to make sure everyone knows of his abilities at a slew of camps.
"I'll go to quite a few to get my name out there," he said. "I'm just still trying to figure out the team camps right now."
