Did Stoops visit impress LaFell

Houston (Texas) Lamar three-star receiver Brandon LaFell was hoping to eventually get an offer from in-state power Texas, but it looks like the 6-foot-3, 180-pounder isn’t going to get that offer.
“They came by school last week and told my coach they are close to offering me,” LaFell said. “They were talking about brining me in for a visit this weekend, but I guess it’s not going to happen. I was really hoping they’d offer. I thought they were.”

LaFell, who is one of the fastest rising prospects in Texas, said now he’s pretty open with all the schools on his list. He received an in-home visit tonight from Arizona head coach Mike Stoops. Colorado, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Utah and newcomers Michigan State and Mississippi State are also involved.
“Coach Stoops’ visit was pretty good,” LaFell said. “It went Ok. He mainly talked to my mom since I was at basketball practice. He had to get on a plane to get back home to Arizona. It seemed like he was having a good talk with my mom.
“I’m pretty wide open. Those new offers just came this week, so I might be interested in them.”
