Did Maryland visit change Tates mind

Rivals100 running back Benjamin Tate has a soft verbal commitment to Auburn, but the 5-foot-10, 204-pounder took a visit to in-state Maryland over the weekend. Did the visit help sway the Newark (Md.) Snow Hill prospect closer to the Terps?
"It was a really nice visit and I had a good time, I got to meet their academic people, players and coaches. It was good to check out everybody and see the game and hang out with the players," he said. "My host was Jeff Allen and he was pretty good. I had a good time with him."

The four-star prospect and member of the Rivals100 was there to witness Maryland's tough loss to West Virginia.
"They played hard, but they just couldn't pull it out," he said. "It's a nice school and everybody on the team is pretty cool. They're just young and need a big-time running back to help the program. The atmosphere was good, it's a little bit smaller of an audience, but it's still great."
Where do the Terps stand for the No. 8 running back in the country?
"I'm still committed to Auburn," he said. "I still got two more visits including one to Penn State and a new one to Florida when they face Vanderbilt (Nov. 4)."
Last week Tate ran for 215 yards and two touchdowns in a tough win against Eastern.
