"I made an official visit to Michigan," lineman Thomas Herring said. "It was my first one."
"I loved it. It was great, a nice experience. I liked the fans. I talked to the coaches. Coach Carr, all of them were real nice."
"Two other schools I know I'll visit are Oklahoma and Miami. But those probably won't be till later, November or December."
"And I'm looking at Washington, LSU, UCLA, and USC. All the schools have offered me a scholarship."
"I would say my top two are Miami and USC."
The 6-foot-6 and 292 pound Herring, from Los Angeles (Calif.) Fremont, is the Rivals.com number 1 offensive tackle with a five star rating. However Herring said Michigan is recruiting him as a defensive end.
