Did Davis land any offers

Today was a big day for Andre Davis. Davis, a junior wide receiver from Tampa (Fla.) Jefferson High School, will be one of the most coveted prospects in the Sunshine State for the Class of 2011. He turned 16 today and it was the first day juniors could receive a scholarship offer. So how did the day turn out?
"It really was nothing special," Davis said. "I have been chilling because we have a big game on Friday. Practice is going well and our defense is really stepping up. The offense is doing their thing to."

Surprisingly Davis did not receive any scholarship offers today. But he knows in the long run he will get his share.
"I didn't get any today and that's okay. I am not really surprised and I know my time will come. It will come soon. This will give me a ton of motivation. I will show everyone what I can do this season."
Today Davis did get letters from Virginia, Alabama and Vanderbilt. Still, there remains one team that heads and shoulders the clear leader for this 6-1 and 180 pound wide receiver.
"I want to go to Miami. That's my leader. I have talked with a couple of their coaches and their scouting guy. I will try and get down there for a game. I like their program overall. The school is nice and it's a private school."
This Friday Davis has a monster matchup, as Jefferson takes on Hillsborough. Hillsborough has one of the nation's top cornerback prospects in Terrence "T-Rex" Mitchell. It will be a great matchup between the two and one Davis is really looking forward to.
"T-Rex is a great DB. To match up with him is a big challenge and I will have to play hard and go all out on every play. T-Rex is a good one because he has great speed and he can jump. He's just an outstanding player. I am really looking forward to this Friday."
