Dick opens things back up

The head coaching change at Rice has definitely had an effect on three-star quarterback recruit Nathan Dick.
Dick, the 6-foot-4, 200-pound once solid commit, has now opened things back up with just weeks to go before Signing Day. With coach Todd Graham leaving Rice for Tulsa, the Allen, Texas signal-caller has some thinking to do and is focused on three schools.

"I'm really looking at Rice and Houston, but Arkansas has talked to me a little bit too," Dick said. "Arkansas hasn't offered or anything. They want to wait until they get back from recruiting and then they're going to contact me about where things stand here in the next week or so."
The first order of business for Dick will be an official visit to Houston this upcoming weekend (Jan. 19).
"I was talking to Houston before I committed to Rice, so I've met coach Art Briles and everything," Dick said. "It's the same kind of offense there that we run at Allen – passing the ball a lot. Rice is the same way. They also don't have a ton of quarterbacks at either school."
Things could prove to be interesting with Dick's brother, Casey Dick, being a sophomore quarterback for Arkansas. The younger brother says that he's already heard from his brother a little bit about possibly being at the same school as him.
"He sent me a text message and stuff like that," Nathan said about Casey. "It's always fun being around him and he could teach me. Plus, that would be a lot easier on my parents if we were at the same school."
Rice coaches, like David Beaty, have been in contact with Dick. However, until a head coach is named at Rice, Dick remains uncommitted.
"They said that they want me to come down on an official visit," Dick said about the Rice coaches. "I just don't want to waste my time if there isn't a coach there. They told me they'd let me know when a head coach was coming in."
Dick doesn't have any other official visits set up after his trip to Houston this weekend.
