Diamond has a leader

Beaver (Pa.) Beaver Area linebacker Cory Diamond has taken one unofficial visit recently. The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder made a trip to a school in the MAC.
"Last weekend I went to Kent State," he said. "It was nice there. I liked the campus and checked out the football practice. It was a lot different than what I'm used to, but I liked what I saw, they've got a high octane practice it was like a game.

"I also talked to head coach Doug Martin. He was the first one to greet us there. I didn't get to talk very long, but I was introduced to all the assistants."
Diamond was also invited to Akron recently for a visit, but couldn't make the trip.
Meanwhile, plenty of other schools are showing interest including Connecticut, Iowa, Purdue, Pittsburgh and Penn State.
"I've always really liked Maryland a lot," he said. "I haven't gotten any letters from them, but I hope to. My aunt lives down there and I really like their football and basketball teams."
Diamond went on to discuss what he wants in a college.
"I want to get a good education," he said. "I know I'm not promised football after this, so that's my main goal and I want to go into accounting. I'd like to stay close to home too."
Coming up, the Keystone State prospect plans to attend the Metro Index Combine and Penn State summer camp.
Diamond registered six sacks and one interception as a junior on his way to all-conference honors.
