Detroit athlete leads team to playoffs

Detroit Trinity Catholic two-star athlete Lance Caldwell is still awaiting his first scholarship offer, but with a strong run through the state playoffs that’s likely to change.

“We’re in the second round now,” Caldwell, who is 6-foot and 180 pounds, said. “I’m a receiver, and will probably play that in college, but I had to move to quarterback a few games to help the team out. Our quarterback got hurt, so I had to move there. I scored two touchdowns in all of the last few games, so it’s been going great.”

And he’s on the verge of picking up offers from Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan. He’s also getting semi-regular calls from Indiana.

“Most of the teams say they wanted to see more film,” he said. “I think they’re going to like what they see.”
