Despite flood of offers, Michigan State a major factor for legacy 2021 TE

It's been a very fruitful spring for Class of 2021 tight end Jake Briningstool as his over list has exploded, with major programs all over the country jumping into the mix for his services. The Nashville-area native is taking all the new attention in stride as he focuses on a busy summer of visits and camps. Rivals.com recently caught up with Briningstool to talk recruiting and look ahead to his summer plans.

"I've been talking to and getting to know a lot of coaches and building those relationships. I have a good relationship with Coach Bentley from South Carolina and Michigan State's coaching staff would probably be my two closest."

Michigan State: "My dad went to Michigan State and that was a big offer for me but it's not something that's going to sway me one way or another when it comes my recruitment. I grew up rooting for them because it was always on the TV and stuff."

Potential fit in Spartans offense: "They said they liked the fact that I have the ability to play all three downs and not have to substitute in a receiver for me when they want to pass it or they wouldn’t have to sub in somebody to block. I’d say that’s the main things they like."

Visit to campus: "I liked it a lot. It's a great program and I have a great relationship with Coach Dantonio. My dad played there and I just like it a lot."

Next visit to East Lansing: "I haven’t set up a date yet but I’m going to try to sometime around my camp schedule"

South Carolina: "I like Coach Bentley a lot. He likes my size and ability to stretch the field as a receiver. And I’m going to try and get back there for a visit as soon as I can."

Camp visits: "This summer I'm going to camp at Alabama (June 3), Clemson (June 9-11) and Miami (June 22).
