Derrick Williams meets with Stoops

Greenbelt (Md.) Eleanor Roosevelt athlete Derrick Williams hosted Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops in his home on Wednesday evening and has set the date for his final visit.
"Coach Stoops was a down-to-earth person," said Dwight Williams, Derrick's dad. "He talked about Derrick coming in and working hard and getting a chance to play early. Oklahoma is losing quite a few wideouts and they need players who can step in right away."

Stoops finalized Derrick's official visit for this upcoming weekend. Derrick's mother, Brinda, left Wednesday to visit family in Oklahoma and Derrick will leave Friday. He's also set his visit to Texas.
"Derrick's going to Texas from Monday to Wednesday of next week," said Dwight. "We're going to try to have him stay with family Sunday night and head down to Texas after that.
"The Oklahoma and Texas visits will be big because those are the two schools that are far away," said Dwight. "Derrick needs to feel comfortable there and he'll know when he takes his trips."
Penn State head coach Joe Paterno will be at the Williams house Thursday evening and Urban Meyer is hoping to come in after Williams returns from his official visit to Texas.
"After next Thursday, we're shutting it down," said Dwight. "We're not going to talk to coaches or anybody so we can focus and compare and narrow things down for his decision. By then we'll have met with all the coaches and visited all the schools."
Williams will announce his destination on Wednesday, Dec. 22 live at 3:30PM EST from his high school on ESPNews.
