Denver CB continues tradition of speed

Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver, Colo. has a tradition of putting out prospects with speed, and this year is no different.
At 6-foot, 185-pounds DeWayne Lewis will play both wide receiver and cornerback for Jefferson this fall.

But the Division-I schools calling him
are looking at him as a cornerback prospect.
"I like playing press man coverage, aggressive and in your face", Lewis said.
When asked who is sending him letters, Lewis rattled off Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Colorado, Oregon, Washington State and Wyoming.
"Some schools were calling too. Coach Bienemy is calling me from Colorado, Coach Peterson is calling me from Kansas State and I get calls from Wyoming and Oregon also."
Lewis also stated that he is being recruited for track by some schools.
DeWayne ran a 10.71 machine-timed 100 meters at the 5A semi-finals last season, and 10.76 in the final.
