Denison RB one of Texas best

If there is any doubt that Denison, Texas, running back Corey Robertson will be one of the nation’s top rushers next season, then just take a look at his list of honors and stats from his junior season. Be prepared to sit for a while because the list is awfully long.

Don’t even get us started on his sophomore honors.
Yes, indeed, Robertson, who is 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, will be one of the Lone Star State’s top recruits for the Class of 2005.
“I think I use my peripheral vision better than a lot of other backs out there,” Robertson, who has been timed at 4.59-seconds in the 40-yard dash and has a 250-pound bench-press, said. “It allows me to make cutbacks and get into the open field.”
He also has the ability to run between tackles and use his strength and power to bowl over defenders. Robertson did that quite often last year, rushing for 2,159 yards on 232 carries and 21 touchdowns. For those of you keeping track, that’s 9.3 yards a carry. Robertson also got it done on defense with 48 tackles and five interceptions.
When it comes to recruiting, Robertson said he doesn’t have any official scholarship offers yet, but is getting the most mail from Texas A&M, Washington, Oklahoma, Colorado, Nebraska and Iowa.
“I don’t have a leader right now, and I’m going to look at a lot of different things before I make my decision,” Robertson said. “I’m going to be looking at coaching, education and the opportunity to start.”
Robertson said he grew up watching Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Washington and Arizona the most while growing up.
