Demon Deacons add Texas OG

Wake Forest added some help along the offensive line recently from the Lone Star State in Colleyville (Texas) Heritage offensive guard Ryan Britt. The 6-foot-4, 285-pounder selected the Demon Deacons over offers from Tulsa, Brigham Young, Utah, Rice and Houston.
"He actually committed over a week ago to Wake Forest," Heritage head coach Chris Cunningham said. "I think it was the fact he went there for summer camp. I know he loved the campus and really enjoyed the coaching staff there. Since then, he's really enjoyed the times he's talked to their coaches and I think that was a big factor that appealed to him.

"Aside from that, they are having a good year this season and that interests him. He likes to see that they are a program on the rise. Finally, I think one other thing that swayed him was the opportunity to step in and get a chance to play soon in the next two to three years."
Cunningham is excited for his star lineman.
"I was very excited to hear about it and I know this is something that kind of took the pressure off of him," he said. "Ever since Ryan committed, he has done really well. I can tell he's glad to have it over with and excited to join Wake Forest."
What kind of player is Wake Forest adding?
"I think they're getting a kid that could help them out anywhere along the offensive line," he said. "He plays offensive tackle for us and does a great job there with tremendous feet and speed. He's an athlete and is versatile enough to go from tackle down to center.
"They are also getting a great kid of character. He's a top student and has everything you look for in a young man. Ryan is a recruit they can build a winning program with."
