DeMatha FB is headed to the MAC

Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha fullback Austin Bailey made his choice this past weekend. The 6-foot-0, 236-pounder took an official visit and gave his pledge before leaving campus.
"I committed this past weekend on an official to Akron," he said. "I'm ready to sign there on Wednesday."

Bailey discussed what made him pick the Zips.
"It's a nice campus and they have nice people," he said. "Their new coaching staff with Coach Ianello seems really genuine. They are good people with good experience. They also have a good plan set up for my major, engineering. All that together made it an easy choice for me."
Bailey has a chance to see playing time pretty early at Akron.
"They are switching to a pro-style offense, so they don't have a fullback in the system," he said. "If I am physically prepared and mentally there, I might have a possibility to play next year.
"Overall I'm really excited about it and my mom is excited. I'm glad I'll be signing on Wednesday. I don't think there is a college out there that suits me better than Akron does."
