Deloatch sees interest rising

Numerous offers have been reported for Hampton (Va.) Phoebus wide receiver Romond Deloatch. The 6-foot-5, 206-pounder set the record straight with Rivals.com.
"Schools have come by, but I don't have any offers," he said. "I'm hearing from a lot of schools and talking to them, I'm not really sure what I'm going to do."

Deloatch touched on the schools interested.
"Florida State, East Carolina, Michigan, Penn State, LSU, Virginia, Virginia Tech and most of the ACC along with some of the SEC are recruiting me," he said. "I'm at a loss for words to the interest."
To date, Deloatch has visited Duke, but claims other visits are coming for junior days and spring games.
Does he like anyone early?
"It's a little hard to say, not yet," he said. "I'm just waiting."
In January, Deloatch made a showing in the U.S. Army Combine.
"I did pretty well," he said. "It was the worst combine I went to, I could have done a lot better.
"I just kept moving and there was good competition out there."
Of course, Phoebus and Deloatch won state this year and he reflected on the season.
"I led my team in receptions," he said. "I had 27 receptions and nine touchdowns. I was all-district and all-state.
"I did a whole lot this year. I was faster and got a lot better. I matured a lot and now going into my senior year, I've got to step up and lead my team. I'm working on my quickness and trying to get my feet a little faster."
