Delaware LB is starting to get noticed

Salesianum (Dela.) Salesianum School linebacker Jim Custer has slipped under the radar early in the recruiting process. Part of the reason is that the 6-foot-1, 220-pounder missed half of his junior season due to injury, but now better he's ready to prove himself.
"I did good last season," he said. "Our team was Division I state champs and we went 10-2. I started at inside linebacker for five games and then broke my hand. Two games later I broke my collarbone and missed the rest of the season.

"I still ended up second team all-conference even though I played in six games. I'm healed up now and trying to get back in shape."
According to Custer, he averaged approximately 13 tackles a game and posted five sacks on the year.
Recruiting is slowly picking up for Custer who's just getting his film out now to coaches.
"I haven't gotten as much as I've hoped," he said. "I'm starting to hear from a few schools. Oregon sent some mail last week. I'm getting a bunch from Brown and some Division I-AA's."
Does Custer like anybody?
"Definitely, I like the schools up north," he said. "I like Connecticut. I went there after my sophomore year. I'm interested in Boston College and West Virginia. I like Pittsburgh. I went there last summer for camp.
"I like those teams cause I don't want to go hours and hours away from home. I want my parents to be able to make it to one or two games a year. I like Connecticut's linebacker cause he kind of reminds me of how I play."
With interest rising, Custer reflected on what he's looking for in a school.
"I just want a school I feel comfortable at and where there is a family atmosphere," he stated. "I'd like it to be a competitive team and I'd like to see some time. I want to be able to make an impact soon."
A solid student with a 3.3 GPA, Custer is looking at camps at Connecticut, Pittsburgh and Brown.
