Position: Wide Receiver
Size and Speed: DeGrate is 6-foot and 175 pounds. He has been timed at 4.50 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
Statistics: DeGrate caught 41 passes as a junior for 716 yards and ten touchdowns
Honors: DeGrate earned first-team all-district honors after his junior campaign.
Favorite Schools: Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas, Oklahoma State, Arkansas and Colorado are staying in touch with DeGrate.
Skinny: DeGrate played his junior season with one of the top quarterbacks in the Lone Star State, Arkansas signee Robert Johnson.
“Robert was a good quarterback no doubt,” DeGrate said. “Playing with guys like him make you realize how good you have to be to play at the next level.”
That next level is DeGrate’s next step if everything goes like he hopes.
“Oklahoma has offered me a scholarship. But, they are the only one so far. I also have interest in Texas A&M, Texas, Oklahoma State, Arkansas and Colorado. I’m learning more about all of them all the time.”
DeGrate is being recruited by schools to play wide receiver, but he could bring more to the table if need be.
“I will probably be handling more of the return duties this year,” DeGrate said. “I didn’t get a lot of opportunities last fall. The other teams kicked it away from me so I couldn’t return them. But this year I hope to get chances on both punts and kicks. That will give me more to offer.”
