Defensive tackle stock heats up

Defensive tackle is one of the toughest positions recruit. That is one reason that Jonathan Soto (6-4, 260, 4.9) from La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat has seen his stock heat up of late. The other is his talent. He is a big guy can run and is very quick.
On the season, Soto has racked up 30 tackles and three sacks. That is very productive when you consider that he’s an inside guy who is always double teamed.

“Jonathan is playing great,” Bishop Amat coach Mike Di Fiori said. “He’s winning the majority of his battles.”
“The opposition has to know Jonathan is at all times,” Di Fiori said. “He’s really good.”
Kansas has offered and UCLA has come on lately and is recruiting him pretty hard.
There are a lot of schools that are on the cusp offering Soto a scholie. UCLA being one of them.
Cal, Washington, Colorado, Wyoming and Idaho are also recruiting Soto.
Soto was an all-league selection for one of the toughest conferences in southern California after picking up 58 tackles and recording six sacks his junior season..
Another thing to like about Soto is his versatility. He has the talent level to play on the offensive trench on the collegiate level if a team needs him to switch sides of the ball. He does project as a defensive tackle, however.
Not only is he an outstanding football player but he’s doing the job in the classroom as well with his 3.5 GPA.
The scouting report on Soto is he has great size, speed and quickness. He could still grow some.
