Defensive tackle commits to Auburn

Auburn has picked up their fifth commitment from the Class of 2011 and their first from a defensive line recruit.
Defensive tackle Angelo Blackson, a 6-foot-5, 290-pound line recruit from Bear (Dela.) Red Lion Christian Academy hasn't been in the spotlight for much of the recruiting process like so many other talented prospects but you can bet that will change now that his commitment to the Tigers is public knowledge.

"I just felt right about it and decided (to commit)," Blackson said on Saturday. "They had a coach come down to watch our 7-on-7 and it felt like the right time."
Blackson was at Auburn for the school's spring game not too long ago, so he knows what life is like where he will be. He's looking forward to playing in the SEC and experiencing a new part of the country.
"They offered me that Sunday when I was there for the spring game," he recalled. "Oh man, it was just a great trip. Just being there with all the people and chilling with the players ... it was cool. When I was up there I had some conversations with their coaches and we discussed some things that I want to do in college.
"Location is no problem for me. I want to get away from out. I want to get out of Delaware and see something new."
Blackson had also received an offer from Missouri prior to making his decision. He was receiving interest from NC State, Rutgers and Temple, among others.
Last fall he recorded 56 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and seven sacks as a defensive tackle for his high school squad. He told Rivals.com he is a solid verbal for the Tigers and will not be visiting other schools.
