Decision Time: Recruiting storylines in Tennessee and Kentucky

Four-star LB Edwin Spillman among the top prospects uncommitted
Four-star LB Edwin Spillman among the top prospects uncommitted

With June officials now in the rearview, we're already seeing a wave of commitments happening from some of the top prospects from around the country.

However, some of the best players in the states of Tennessee and Kentucky remain uncommitted for now.

Rivals.com national analyst Sean Williams breaks down each recruiting battle and gives his prediction for each prospect.

- Spillman took June officials with Florida State, Ohio State, and Tennessee. While the Seminoles and Buckeyes will give him a lot to think about, Spillman's older brother, Nate, is a freshman wide receiver for Tennessee. I say the brothers reunite in Big Orange Country.

PREDICTION: TENNESSEE

*****

- The four-star offensive lineman released a Top 3 back on May 23rd that included Clemson, Wisconsin, and Tennessee. Official visits are now in the books with all three programs and a decision will likely be announced soon. I think the allure of staying home and playing for the Volunteers will be too much in the end.

PREDICTION: TENNESSEE

*****

- The four-star wide receiver is fresh off June officials to Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. Jefferson has been a Tennessee baseball commit for a longtime, so it would be easy to predict he'll stay in-state. However, the temptation to play for one of college football's two current heavyweights may be too much. I say the electric pass-catcher is T-Town bound.

PREDICTION: ALABAMA

*****

- The 6-foot-4, 210-pound linebacker has a Top 3 of Kentucky, Purdue, and NC State. He has taken officials with the Boilermakers and Wolfpack while stopping by for an unofficial visit with the Wildcats. Groves has been tight-lipped since his visits, but I think Dave Doeren and his crew win out with the final visit.

PREDICTION: NC STATE

*****

- Officials to West Virginia, Purdue, and Illinois are in the books for the three-star defensive tackle and a decision should come at anytime. This appears to be a Big Ten battle that I see the Boilermakers winning.

PREDICTION: PURDUE
