Decision near for Johnson

In early July, Orlando (Fla.) Agape Christian Academy wide receiver Drico Johnson said he intended to make a college decision prior to the start of his senior year. The three-star wideout says that is still the case as his senior season fast approaches.
"I am still planning to decide before the school year starts," Johnson said. "I am kind of close right now, but it will definitely be before school starts."

School begins for Johnson on August 23rd. He said the decision will come prior to that date. In order to reach that decision, he said he must learn a bit more about where he fits on different teams rosters and depth charts.
"I have to talk with the coaches more," Johnson said. "I want to know if I have a good chance of coming in to play. I want to know what kind of impact I can have with them early on."
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Central Florida athlete isn't quite ready to share a leader or short list of favorites.
"I haven't really narrowed it down, but it is just about the schools that are recruiting me hard and talking to me the most," Johnson said. "I am talking a lot to Iowa State, Purdue, UCF, Marshall, N.C. State, and Indiana. I don't have a leader, they are all pretty even right now."
Earlier this summer, Johnson visited Indiana, Northwestern, and Purdue. Recently, he participated in Friday Night Lights at Florida.
As a junior, Johnson had 40 receptions for 886 yards and eight touchdowns. He also returned a kick for a touchdown.
