Decision made for Jones

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Athlete Cyrus Jones can contribute on either side of the ball. This week at the Under Armour All-America Game practices, the Baltimore (Md.) Gilman School star is working at defensive back. He is enjoying his time at the spot.
"It has just been a great experience," Jones said. "It is definitely humbling to just come out here against a bunch of talent that is on equal level with yourself. I feel like it is a great opportunity to come out here, get better, and work hard. That is what it is all about."

The four-star athlete says that the practices are a sneak peek of what he expects at the next level.
"College is all about competing," Jones said. "There are going to be a whole bunch of you's down there in college so it is just going to come down to separating yourself by working hard and knowing what you have to do. That is how you stand on top."
As for the next level, the Rivals250 prospect has narrowed his focus to just two schools.
"I am pretty much down to two schools - Virginia Tech and Alabama," Jones said. "I am going to play slot receiver at either one of those schools. That is what I want to do, so they are the best places for me."
Jones officially visited both of his finalists during the college football season. He talks about some of the similarities between the two.
"Both of those schools are great," Jones said. "Alabama has a great winning tradition and great coaches. Virginia Tech also wins and has great coaches. There is great tradition at both of those schools. They both also offer a great academic opportunity. I feel comfortable at each of them and can see myself there for four years for my college experience."
While he admits that the Crimson Tide and Hokies share many similarities, Jones has already been able to make his final decision.
"They don't have too much separation but I already know where I want to go," Jones said. "It is the place that I feel most comfortable at and I feel as though I can develop the most as a player. It is also where I feel I can really enjoy college.
"I've pretty much known for the past three or four weeks," Jones added.
Jones will make his announcement on Thursday evening during the Under Armour All-America Game.
"I am making my decision Thursday night," Jones said. "I am done with recruiting after Thursday."
