Decision date set for Syvelle Newton
Bennetsville (S.C.) Marlboro County quarterback Syvelle Newton is ready for his final official visit and has a decision date planned out.
"I'm going to announce on Monday at 11 A.M.," said the 6-foot-2, 210-pounder. "I'm going to Vanderbilt this weekend and then I'll make a decision. It's between South Carolina, Clemson and Vanderbilt."

Is there a leader?
"Not really," he said. "South Carolina has always been a school that I feel comfortable at, but I liked Clemson on my visit and I'm sure I'll like Vandy as well. I just want to go someplace where I can step in and play early and make an impact."
Newton's decision will be aired on local television in South Carolina.
