LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - With all-star season comes decisions. Such is the case for Winter Garden (Fla.) West Orange three-star safety Lucas Thompson, who intends to make his announcement at the Under Armour All-America Game.
"I am deciding this week," Thompson said. "It is between East Carolina, South Carolina, and Miami."
As of Sunday afternoon, Thompson says the final decision hasn't been made.
"I don't know yet, not really," Thompson said. "I am going to talk it over with my parents more. They are going to come down to the hotel and we are going to talk before the game."
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back from the Sunshine State talked about his three finalists.
East Carolina: "That is the only official visit I have taken. What stood out there was the environment, the atmosphere there. It just felt like a family."
Miami: "I have been there on an unofficial. They are getting better and better. Coach (Al) Golden is kind of new so he has to get his program right. But he is going to get it right in these next coming years."
South Carolina: "I haven't been to South Carolina yet. I just like them though."
Even though he will announce this week, Thompson's recruitment isn't likely to conclude until National Signing Day.
"I am going to still take officials," Thompson said. "I plan to take one to Miami and one to South Carolina."
No specific dates have been set for Thompson's official visits.
Academically, Thompson is still working to attain a necessary test score.
