Decision coming for Byford

Hartselle, Ala. offensive lineman Brett Byford has taken all the official visits he'll need. Now it's decision time.
"Brett is spending the Holidays with some family in North Carolina this week so he'll probably decide after the New Year," said Joe Byford, Brett's father. "I know he's doing some very hard thinking about it right now."

Byford has visited South Carolina, Clemson, Georgia Tech and Nebraska and, while none of them have been eliminated, two teams seem to be in the lead.
"He really had a great time at Nebraska and South Carolina impressed him quite a bit," his father said. "He's still thinking about the others and could surprise me and pick any of the four, but I think it's between Nebraska and South Carolina."
Will distance be a factor?
"No, not at all," he said with a laugh. "In fact, it could be an advantage to get away from the old parents."
Byford, a 6-foot-4, 290-pounder ranked as the No. 18 offensive guard in the country, will decide by next week at the latest.
"I know he's anxious to get the decision made."
