Greg Gaines was committed to Boise State and everything appeared to be in order in his recruitment.
The La Habra, Calif., three-star defensive tackle was happy, he was content with his decision and everything was all set for the Broncos.
Then coach Chris Petersen left Boise State for Washington and there were significant changes for the 6-foot-1, 290-pound prospect, who looked good at the Rivals Camp in Phoenix last spring.
This weekend, Gaines is taking a trip to Washington and Gaines said if things go well, then his decision could be made up again.
"I'm definitely leaning toward going to the University of Washington," Gaines said. "I just want to go up there and check it out first."
The La Habra standout said if his trip to Washington goes well then another commitment could be made.
The new coaching staff at Washington is a major pull for Gaines, who said his recruitment is basically down to the Huskies and Boise State, but a lot could depend on his trip this weekend.
"It's between Boise and Washington right now for me," Gaines said.
Two factors could be playing major roles for Gaines - the coaching staff at Washington is basically the people he enjoyed so much when they were at Boise, and playing in the Pac-12 could be a serious pull for him.
