DeCicco pulls the trigger

Jefferson Hills (Pa.) Jefferson wide receiver Dom DeCicco has committed to Pitt over scholarship offers from Arizona State, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, Vanderbilt, Indiana, and Temple.
"I visited Pitt all day Thursday," DeCicco said. "Then I called them on Friday night and committed.

"First I talked to coach (Dave) Wannstedt, then coach (Bob) Junko. They seemed pretty excited."
DeCicco said there was more than one reason for selecting the Panthers.
"I feel like it's the perfect fit for me," he said. "I'm real comfortable with the coaches. I think the program is up and coming, and I want to be part of bringing them back."
The 6-foot-2 and 196-pound DeCicco played both wide receiver and cornerback during his junior season. He caught 28 passes and intercepted five. DeCicco also returned punts and kickoffs.
"The (Pitt) coaches told me I'll begin as a wide receiver or safety, then if I out grow those positions I'll move to linebacker or tight end," DeCicco said.
