Deaver begins to plan for summer camps

Charlotte (N.C.) Providence wide receiver Braxton Deaver claims one scholarship. However, the 6-foot-5, 207-pounder believes a variety of other schools could be on the verge of offering.
"East Carolina is my only offer so far," he said. "Right now, I'm in the middle of my lacrosse season and haven't been able to take visits on the weekends. I am going to get to a couple camps this summer. I may try to get to East Carolina this spring as well.

"I definitely want to go to Virginia Tech on June 6th, Clemson, Duke, and I'm trying to get to South Carolina and Virginia this summer."
A few other schools including Wake Forest, Arizona and UCLA are also showing interest.
Does the Carolina prospect like anybody at this time?
"Right now East Carolina is my No. 1 since they've offered," he said. "I'm keeping a pretty level head. I'd say at the moment Clemson, Wake Forest and East Carolina are my top three.
"They all throw the ball a lot and aren't blocking schools. They are great programs and I like the staffs, but I'm keeping an open mind."
As far as his position, most schools are looking at him as a tight end at the next level.
"I'm being recruited mostly as a tight end," he said. "A lot of schools are evaluating me still because they haven't seen me with my hand down blocking. Coaches want to see what I'll be like as a tight end before they offer."
