Deaderick sets three visits, talks Florida

Elizabethtown, Ky., weakside defensive end Brandon Deaderick has always liked to keep his options open. However, there comes that point in every prospects recruitment where he must narrow it down to five and schedule his official visits. For Deaderick that time is now.
“I have an official visit scheduled with Alabama for January 7, Auburn for January 14 and Louisville for January 21,” Deaderick said. “I am definitely going to schedule one to Tennessee and I was going to schedule one with Florida, but now I don’t know.”

So how does the firing of Ron Zook effect the Gator’s chances with this talented defender?
“I was really shocked that Florida lost to Mississippi State,” Deaderick said. “I was watching the game and fell asleep. I woke up later and on College Gameday they were talking about how Florida had lost. I was really shocked that they fired coach Zook during the middle of the season.”
The 6-foot-4, 232-pound Deaderick still has many unanswered questions about the Gator program as many recruits do.
“I am wondering who they will bring in,” Deaderick said. “You hear them talk about Spurrier, the coach at Boise State, coach Petrino at Louisville and others, you just don’t know what to think. I don’t know how they can recruit when no one knows who the coach is going to be. Florida is not out of the picture for me, but I am going to sit back and see who they bring in and what happens.”
Is there another team that could sneak in and take the Gators place in his top five?
“I am starting to like Michigan State a lot,” Deaderick said. “They have been moving up my list for a while. If I decide not to visit Florida, then Michigan State would probably get my last visit.”
