DE will camp at MD and Purdue

New Jersey is once again loaded with talent for the 2004 season and defensive end Denzel Burrell of Maplewood (N.J.) Columbia is one player that college recruiters will keep a close eye on. At 6-foot-4, 215-pounds, Burrell is a speedy rush end who has the body to be a big-time player at the next level.
"I'm hearing from a lot of schools and the ones I like the most right now are Maryland, Purdue, Boston College, Pittsburgh, North Carolina, North Carolina Sate and Tennessee."

Burrell runs a 4.65-second 40-yard dash, has a vertical jump of 29 inches and carries a 3.3 GPA.
Last season Burrell had 75 tackles with 23 of them for a loss. He also used his speed to get 27 quarterback pressures, seven sacks and two blocked punts. he was selected to the all-conference, all-area and all-county teams.
"I plan on going to Maryland and Purdue camps so far. It could change, but that's what I'm thinking right now."
Burrell knows what he’s looking for in a college.
“I want a school that will offer me an excellent education and a football program that will win.”
