Prichard (Ala.) Vigor defensive end Justin Thornton has been an Auburn pledge since May, and the things likely won't change for the defending SEC champs. Thornton reportedly has a pair of official visits on tap in the upcoming weeks.
"Yes sir, I'm all set for Auburn," Thornton said. "I'm going to Auburn on the 17th (of January) and probably USC on the 24th (of January)."
Thornton has never been to California before, so he's looking forward to the trip and seeing what the Trojans have to offer.
"I want to go out there for fun," Thornton said. "I'm only thinking about Auburn. I'm signing with them in February."
The four-star defender attended the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl in Orlando over the weekend, but he did not participate in the all-star contest.
Last month he performed well at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic. Thornton recorded two tackles and a quarterback hurry in the Yellowhammer State's 21-17 win over the Magnolia State standouts.
As a senior he recorded 56 tackles, including seventeen for loss, and eight sacks. He is listed as the No. 7 player in the state of Alabama for the Class of 2014.
