Brandon was name All-Conference and All-City as a lineman last year and is preparing to start this year August 31st against Des Moines North High School.

Brandon also plays baseball and participates in track.

He has no offers as of yet, but he is hearing from Iowa State, Iowa, Northern Iowa and Kansas. "Distance will not really be a factor, as I'm mainly looking at the scholarship offer and how the school fits academically, the football program and the general environment," Brandon said. "I will probably make my decision after the season in December before Christmas.

Brandon has attended camps at Nebraska and Simpson College. Brandon is an Iowa Hawkeye fan.

If he had to make his official visits, they would be to the following (his comments follow):

Iowa - "I like the campus and the coaching staff a lot."

Iowa State - "Their academics are really high and it's a laid back school, not so much partying as Iowa."

Northern Iowa - "The campus and a lot of high school alumnus go there."

Nebraska - "It's closer to home and some of my family grew up there."

Kansas - "I like the town and it's fairly close. The facilities are nice."

"My strong points are that I'm quick for my size and I play hard and intense every down," McDaniel said. He described himself as - "A hard nosed football player."

He plans to major in secondary education. John Baker of Soiux City East High was his toughest opposing player.
