One of the more intriguing prospects in New Jersey is Darius Slade. The defensive end from Montclair (N.J.) has ten offers right now and is generating a lot of interest.
"My most recent offers are Kansas, West Virginia and Michigan State," said the 6-foot-5, 237-pound Slade. "Rutgers is only 45 minutes from me and they are recruiting me pretty hard. It's easy for them to contact me and they come see me pretty often.
"Syracuse, Maryland and Boston College are some schools that are recruiting me but haven't offered yet," he said. "Right now I'm just very focused on the schools that have offered me. Syracuse might be the next to offer me."

Slade has only been to a few campuses but wants to see more.
"So far I've visited Temple and Rutgers," Slade said. "I plan on getting to Michigan State, West Virginia and Pittsburgh. I wouldn't be surprised if I visit other schools. None of these visits are planned yet. I have to sit down and look at my calendar. "
It is still early for Slade but it's fair to say one school stands head and shoulders above the rest.
"Rutgers is the favorite right now," he said. "I have family up here and I have a great bond with the school. They're pretty much my favorite. Coach Rossi is one of the best football recruiting coaches. I can talk with him about almost anything. He's a great coordinator."
Slade has said he is willing to play in a 4-3 or 3-4 defense.
