DE sets Boston College visit

Three-star defensive end Matt Shaughnessy of Norwich (Conn.) Norwich Free Academy has set up another official visit and is drawing some interest from a new suitor.
The 6-foot-6, 210-pound prospect will visit Boston College on Nov. 26 to go along with visits he had already set up with Purdue (Nov. 19) and Wisconsin (Dec. 3).

“Penn State has been talking with me a lot lately,” Shaughnessy said. “It has been going good. I like all the schools and coaches I’ve talked with so far, there are no favorites. If a school really looked good after the first few visits I might not take all the visits. I might go ahead and decide. I will just see what happens. They are all equal right now.”
Shaughnessy has offers from Connecticut, Syracuse, Indiana, Boston College, Wisconsin, Michigan State and Purdue so far.
Shaughnessy is ranked as the No. 26 weakside defensive end recruit by Rivals.com. His Norwich Free Academy team is 4-2. Shaughnessy admits it has been tough to make tackles this season with so much attention.
“It is hard to make tackles when they run the ball away from you, but it is good that our team is healthy again and we are starting to get it going again,” Shaughnessy said. “We’re going to have a good year.”
